Mechanical Aspects of Hydra Morphogenesis

Congratulations to Kinneret Keren and her group for winning a consolidator European Research Council

(ERC) grant. The ERC funds high-risk high-gain projects of top research groups.

Kinneret’s team studies the mechanical aspects of morphogenesis, the emergence of functional patterns in developing organisms. Using Hydra, a small multicellular fresh-water animal, as a model system, the team aims to uncover how mechanical forces and feedback contribute to the formation and stabilization of the animal’s body plan.

We wish Kinneret and her team good luck with their research.
