Abstract:Underwater electrical explosion of a spherical wire array by pulsed current with amplitude up to 600 kA in microsecond and sub-microsecond time scales is accompanied by the generation of a converging shock wave. During the explosion, each radially expanding wire  generates shock wave in water. These shock waves overlap each other thus forming a single converging strong shock wave which convergence leads to extreme state of water in the vicinity of the sphere origin. In the presentation, the experimental and numerical results of the generation and propagation of these converging shock wave will be presented
