Abstract:The two-dimensional t-J Model is consider to be one of the simplest theoretical models to describe high temperature superconductors of the cuprate family. Even so, our understanding of the model is still limited but for very small systems numerical solutions can be found. We have studied the spectrum, and Chern numbers (Hall conductance) of a t-J model on the torus of 16 sites, with a uniform perpendicular magnetic field for all electron fillings. Close to half filling we find large deviations of the Hall conductance from the non-interacting band structure of the same fillings.
I will present and discuss the significance of these results.
