Noam Dori Won the Best Poster Award during the IPS
20 July 2026
Congratulations to Noam Dori, PhD student of Kinneret Keren, for winning the “Best Poster Award” for his poster titled “Polar Calcium Dynamics in Regenerating Hydra”, during the 71st annual meeting of the Israel Physical Society (IPS) in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Noam’s research concerns morphogenesis, the emergence of functional form, through the study of the regeneration of "Hydra", animals capable of full body regeneration from various amputations. In particular, I study the relationship between calcium dynamics in Hydra tissue to the their polarity memory, a feature that allows Hydra to regenerate their body parts in the same location following amputation.
Well done Noam!
