Discrepancy

The purpose of this lecture is to explain discrepancy - a very important and interesting concept in various fields of mathematics. I will give examples of problems from graph theory and geometry. I will tell you some of what we know about these problems and why we care about their solutions.  If time permits I will also briefly discuss a question this genre that comes up in my current studies of high-dimensional combinatorics.
