Abstract:I will describe how the interactions of particles, from the quarks and gluons of quantum chromodynamics
to the Higgs, give rise to the masses we see around us. I will also describe how the recent Higgs boson
discovery
points to the possibility of an even deeper understanding of the origin of mass.
