Dynamic stability in microbial cummunities

How can multitudes of microbial species coexist in large communities? Why doesn't a single species take over? I will discuss the theoretical limits that dictates the number of species that can stably coexist and show how these limits might be overcome by the introduction of high order interactions among species.
