Interaction of Ultra-Short High-Power Microwaves with Plasma

Sub-nanosecond ultra-high power microwave (HPM) sources developed during the last decade, allowed us to study the interaction of microwaves with plasma in a regime never probed before. New nonlinear phenomena observed in my research, such as ionization-induced self-channeling of an HPM beam, the plasma wake driven by an HPM beam, and complete absorption of the HPM beam in under-dense plasma, will be presented.
