תקציר:
Precision muonic x-ray measurements in light exotic atoms are becoming possible thanks to advances in quantum-sensing technology. These measurements enable significantly improved determinations of nuclear charge radii, which are essential for testing fundamental physics and exploring potential new physics. Our new collaboration, QUARTET, aims to improve the charge radii of light nuclei by an order of magnitude. This is made possible by deploying magnetic microcalorimeter detectors which possess high quantum-efficiency and exceptional resolution for determining energies of x-ray photons. In a recent experiment, we measured low-lying transitions in muonic 9Be, which are particularly sensitive to nuclear structure and finite-size effects. In this talk, I will present my ongoing analysis and results towards a significant improvement in the charge radius of 9Be.
