תקציר:

At the onset of core-collapse, convective layers carry high stochastic angular momentum. As these layers are accreted onto the newly formed neutron star, they fuel the formation of intermittent accretion disks - expelling material in alternating direction and providing the necessary energy to explode the star. This is the jittering jets explosion mechanism (JJEM) for core-collapse supernovae (CCSN).

In my talk, I will present how the JJEM can shape supernova remnants (SNR) and demonstrate this shaping for an ensemble of remnants. Using image processing techniques, information metrics and careful comparison to other jet-shaped astrophysical objects, we provide a systematic framework for extracting key morphological features of CCSNRs in support of the JJEM - strengthening the claim for core-collapse supernovae through jets.
