Attosecond Interferometry

Attosecond science has undergone remarkable advances over the past three decades. One of the most important aspects of attosecond spectroscopy is its inherently coherent nature. Resolving this coherence is one of the central challenges of the field, serving as a key step in our ability to reconstruct the internal dynamics. As in many areas of physics, coherence is revealed through interferometry. In this talk, I will describe advanced attosecond interferometric schemes and show how they provide direct access to a broad range of fundamental phenomena, from field-driven dynamics in atomic systems to geometrical phenomena and attosecond-scale currents in solids.  Finally, I will present a new research direction in which attosecond pulses emerge from quantum fluctuations, thereby bridging the fields of quantum optics and attosecond science.
