Dragging vorticeds in type II superconductors

Recent experiments have been able to study the response of vortices in type II superconductors to an external force using magnetic force microscopy. It has been discovered that the vortex tip respond to the force by performing jumps. This Thesis employs a direct polymer approach to model this phenomena and obtain its scaling dependence.
