Electrical conductivity and equations of state of metals at extreme conditions and fast processes

Electrical explosions of single metal wires in water were carried out in order to investigate the electrical conductivity and equations of state of the material at solid-gas densities and temperatures up to 8eV. Results of these experiments are presented and compared to various models of dense, non-ideal plasma and the effect of the experimental timescale will be discussed.
