| תקציר: | Detection of quasars at redshifts of ~6-7 provides a challenge to the standard picture of structure formation in the universe within the hierarchical framework, as the universe is less than a Gigayear old at this time. What are the seeds of supermassive black holes that power these luminous objects? After all, massive objects should form late in the evolution. Did they really form from the remnants of stellar evolution, namely Population III or II stars? In my talk, I will address various aspects of this problem and discuss alternatives to the existing paradigm. |
