News about 4d N=1 IR dualities

In this talk I will present two recent progress about IR dualities in 4d N=1 theories. The first is the use of a method, called deconfinement, to prove complicated dualities starting from basic ones. The second is a derivation of new 4d IR dualities from 5d UV dualities.
