| תקציר: | In this talk, I describe the application of DFT+DMFT framework to explore both local and non-local magnetic properties of strongly correlated materials in the paramagnetic phase. In particular, I discuss the formation of local magnetic moments, the interplay between their magnetic exchange interactions and chemical bonding, and the splitting of electronic spectra caused by magnetic fluctuations. These phenomena will be illustrated through examples ranging from itinerant magnets such as α-iron and nickel to the half-metallic compound CrO₂, and further to two-dimensional systems including itinerant magnets (Fe₂C, CrTe₂) and semiconductors (CrCl₃, CrSBr). For semiconductors, parallels between magnetic and optical properties are also discussed. Despite belonging to different material classes, the considering systems exhibit strikingly similar features of magnetic behavior, which will be analyzed and compared throughout the talk. |
