The Asher Space Research Institute is hosting a delegation from the European Southern Observatory (ESO) that will be presenting their 1.1 billion Euro Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) project, on Nov, 24th.
During the meeting, the visitors will present the ELT, the potential Israeli contributions to its construction and operations, as well as the envisioned needs from the Israeli industries.
This meeting is part of an ongoing motion to have Israel join ESO. More on this at: http://www.astro.tau.ac.il/~dani/esoinit.html
Hence, senior officials from different branches of the Israeli government will also participate.
