Abstract:

We study wave dynamics in honeycomb lattices, with special emphasis on deformed lattices and in the nonlinear regime. The presence of nonlinearity gives rise various interesting phenomena with direct impact on the wave dynamics at the vicinity of the Dirac point. In addition, a detailed study of Klein tunneling in deformed lattices show that it is highly unisotropic and can serve an important tool for electronic lensing in graphene. The analysis has direct implications on cold atoms in a honeycomb optical lattice, and much of it is also relevant to the dynamics of electrons in graphene.
