The faculty held an online year-opening event via Zoom in the presence of students, faculty, researchers and staff. Dean Ehud Behar wished the participants a healthy, productive and successful academic year and reviewed selected events and publications from the past six months (see articles on the faculty website under "News" and "Research bits"). The physics student council representative Jessica Braudo spoke about the activities planned for this year with an emphasis on maintaining student activity even in the age of distance learning.
Dr. Amnon Manassen, Technion-Physics graduate and head of the Core Technologies group at KLA, presented the KLA Awards to Outstanding graduate students. This is a continuation of a long-standing and successful partnership between the faculty and KLA, a company that has supported excellence since its establishment and employs many of the faculty's graduates.
