Research Day 2023

On the 10th of March, the department hosted dozens of undergraduate students who are interested in an advanced degree in physics, as part of our festive research day that takes place once a year. The event opened with blessings from the dean of the department, flash lectures by faculty members and information regrading advanced physics studies at the Technion.

Afterwards, the participants enjoyed a fun Israeli lunch and visited the poster competition of the faculty’s graduate students. A committee of professors chose the outstanding student posters:


1. Evgenii Zheltonozhskii - Competition of Dissipative and Andreev Processes in Abelian Quantum Hall-Superconductor Junctions


2. Anastasiya Vainbaum - Direct Detection of Quasiparticles in a Unitary Fermi Gas


3. Dmitry Shishkin - Exploding Core Collapse Supernovae with the: Jittering Jets Explosion Mechanism The student won prizes and will also represent us at the Technion Research Day later this year.
