Abstract:Fluctuating hydrodynamics is a very successful heuristic approach to macroscopic fluctuations in equilirium and non-equilibrium thermodynamic systems. It consists in adding a white noise in space and time to the currents of conserved quantities in diffusive processes. The corresponding hydrodynamic equations become in this way SSPDE. In spite of the great progress in the study of SSPDE, those arising in fluctuating hydrodynamics are not covered by the present mathematical theory even in one space  dimension. I will discuss some aspects.
