Abstract: | Frequency Resolved Optical Gating (FROG) is the most commonly used apparatus for diagnostics of ultra-short laser pulses. FROG consists of two components: an optical module and a reconstruction algorithm. For a given optical module, existing algorithms limit several properties of the FROG device, including the range of pulses that can be characterized. I will present a new reconstruction approach that utilizes typically existing prior information about measured pulses for significantly improving the properties of the FROG device. Numerical and experimental results will be presented. |
