Waves and quantum fields on fractals

Organizer:Eric Akkermans, Gerald Dunne, Alexander Teplyaev
Dates:26.06 - 01.07.2011
Time:All Day
Location:Lidow Asher Peres (502)
Remark:See link above for the program

The workshop is aimed to bring together physicists and mathematicians working on recent developments in the study of fractals. During the last decade or so, there have been tremendous progresses in this field either in mathematics and in the theory of random processes or in parallels, in condensed matter physics, mesoscopic physics and quantum field theory. Each community (mathematics and physics) has organized a rather large number of conferences and workshops to discuss new developments and to strengthen and develop collaborations. But more infrequent are meetings aimed at bridging between the two communities. This is precisely the purpose of our workshopֲ
