Abstract: | We investigate the effects of dynamical interactions in systems containing multiple planets after the initial stage of planet formation was complete. In particular we focus on the change in the planets' orbital parameters due to planet-planet scattering and secular perturbations. During the period of dynamical activity we show how planets are ejected from their systems and how their inclination and eccentricity can grow even when assuming very low starting values. Our results are based on over 1000 numerical integrations of ensembles of randomly constructed planetary systems, both in a single or binary system, each lasting 100 Myr |
