Abstract: | Characterization of a novel plasma source based on surface flashover along dielectric surface of multi-gap structure, for high-power microwave pulse wake-field generation in vacuum waveguide will be described. The plasma parameters studied by optical, electrical, microwave and spectroscopic diagnostics methods, were found self-consistent and the parameters of the plasma suitable for microwave pulse wake-field generation in waveguide were determined. In addition, preliminary results of 200 MW power and ~1ns duration microwave (9.96 GHz) beam interaction with air and He gas at different pressures will be presented.
