Abstract: | Indistinguishability of particles plays an integral part in physics. Some of the consequences of indistinguishability include an effective interaction between spins of fermions in the form of exchange interaction, Bose-Einstein and Fermi-Dirac statistics for many body systems of bosons and fermions respectively, and many more everyday results that are obvious to us today. But what happens if there are distinguishable but identical particles? By considering interacting distinguishable interacting particles on a lattice, a natural connection with SU(n) symmetry is established, linking them to flavor chains that are analogous to spin chains where old frustrations are lifted and new ones are introduced. |
