Abstract: | This talk presents a general description of redshift-space distortions in the large-scale distribution of matter and how to set robust constraints on alternative cosmological models. This is one of the primary motivations for the forthcoming generation of galaxy surveys, with N-body simulations being a perfect laboratory to test the robustness of cosmological probes to discriminate among alternative frameworks. Measuring the redshift space distortions has become a powerful cosmological probe that, with proper modelling of the pairwise velocities on small scales, could help untangle the modified gravity effects on these scales |
