High Harmonic Generation Driven by Quantum Light |
Abstract: | Abstract
In the last three decades, high harmonic generation (HHG) greatly enhanced our capacity to resolve material dynamics on their natural attosecond timescale, unlocking the field of attosecond science. To date, HHG has solely been modeled and observed when induced by a classical electromagnetic field. However, advances in experimental techniques have enabled the production of highly intense nonclassical light, which has paved the way for experiments in HHG driven by quantum light, and more generally, extreme nonlinear optics.
In this talk, I will discuss theory we have developed to elucidate the behavior of HHG induced by a broad range of quantum states of light. Additionally, I will delve into the experimental progress we have made in creating a nonclassical light beamline, which will enable future investigations in this fascinating field.
