Abstract: | In recent years, a state of the art global magnetohydrodynamic model has been developed and widely used to study the solar corona, as well as to serve as a prototype for a space weather forecasting system. This highly sophisticated model however, can also be implemented to problems other then the current Sun. Here I show two simulations. One is of the young, active Sun, its solar wind and the impact on the paleo-Earth magnetosphere. The second is of the plasma environment in a stellar corona hosting a hot-Jupiter, where I study the dynamics of the system due to the planetary orbital motion, as well as the impact of a Coronal Mass Ejection on the planet. |
