| Abstract: | The evolution of the intrinsic properties of massive black holes (MBHs) spins is driven by accretion of gas and/or by black hole binary coalescences. I will discuss the physical processes involved in the MBH spin evolution, and the implications that such evolution has on MBH recoils, on the occupation fraction of MBHs in galaxies, and on the expected values of MBH spins of different masses. |
