Abstract:

Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are the most energetic, persistent, observed objects in our universe. These highly massive accretion engines radiate in all wavelengths and may affect their host galaxy dramatically. In this talk I will present a high energy view of these objects as seen by line-resolved spectroscopy, as well as the plethora of diagnostic features that allow us to describe the physical properties of AGN. We will focus on AGN outflows, which are thought to provide the feedback mechanism from the AGN to its host, and the broad line region, observed for the first time in X-rays.
