The Technion held the annual TechWomen conference, courtesy of the Roslin August Foundation for the Empowerment of Young Women.

The conference is designed to encourage outstanding female high school students to pursue science and engineering studies. The event took place for the sixth time at the Technion, for the first time online due to the COVID19 limitations, and was broadcast live via Zoom to more than 1,200 high school students from schools around the country. Dr. Efrat Sabach, Technion-physics alumni, was host and shared her path at the Technion, from a bachelor's degree to a doctorate here at the physics department, while focusing on the research she conducted under the supervision of Prof. Noam Soker.

The participating students described the event as empowering, motivating and inspiring, despite being held online. We hope that next year we will be able to host the participants in the faculty, as we have done in the past, and expose them to the studies and research that take place in the department.

The event was covered on the Technion website and on ynet.
