Abstract:

In this seminar, we explore the effective inertial mass of spin vortices in two-dimensional ferromagnetic Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs). By deriving and solving the equations of motion for the spinor components in the Hamiltonian, we reveal the unique particle behavior of spin vortices. Our study identifies the effective mass of these vortices, highlighting a term that is logarithmic in the system size, so that the mass is infinite in the thermodynamic limit. This research provides analytical understanding of the spinor field of a moving vortex, essential for understanding the dynamics of vortices.
