Abstract:The problem of quantum decoherence as a result of external random noise is studied. We investigate optimal dynamical decoupling schemes under the constraint that the control field is limited to a finite supply of energy (for example to prevent heating).
During the talk a simple geometric derivation of the decoherence vs. control relation will be given, some popular control schemes will be examined and the pulsed schemes will be proven to be far from optimal.
