Good Deeds Day 2025

23 March 2025

A team of ten Physics employees went out on Monday, March 16, 2025, and volunteered for the environment by cleaning up the Saadia Stream in Haifa.

The initiative, which took place as part of ‘Good Deeds Day’, was led by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, under the guidance of Gil-Lee Menkes, an instructor on behalf of the organization.

This activity is part of the Technion's commitment to promoting values of environmental responsibility and contribution to the community. Keeping nature clean is not just an aesthetic matter – it is about protecting the ecosystem, preventing pollution of water sources, and preserving green spaces for the benefit of future generations. Waste discarded in nature endangers animals, harms water sources, and affects the quality of life for everyone.

The Physics Department is proud to take part in community projects of this type and sees great value in the connection between the academic community and the environment. Through volunteer activities like this, faculty members express their commitment to the values of sustainability, social engagement, and mutual responsibility.

Good Deeds Day is an excellent opportunity for each of us to stop for a moment and think about how we can contribute and give back. At the Technion, the volunteer spirit is an integral part of the academic culture, and our department  invites the entire community to continue to take initiative, volunteer, and improve our world – step by step.
