Biophysics and Complex Systems

Overview

The extended group includes theoreticians and experimentalists, covering a wide range of fields of interest at the forefront of the physics of complex systems.

The experimental group focuses on the physics of biological systems, aiming at understanding biomolecular interactions, the organizational principles of biological systems on multiple scales from molecules to organisms, and advancing the forefront of statistical physics and non-linear dynamics through the study of biological systems.

The theoretical statistical physics group aims at applying methods from statistical physics to understand complex physics. Much of the activity focuses on understanding the dynamics of far from equilibrium strongly-interacting many-body systems and the emergence of order.
