Undergraduate
Q&A

About a month before the start of the semester, you will receive a password by SMS that allows you to access the Undergraduate Studies website and create your class schedule. The letter will also include instructions for assembling your schedule. You can register for classes online from home or from the Technion computer labs. Additional guidance and advice about your schedule will be provided on the orientation day, which takes place before classes begin. Whenever possible, you can select the lecture and tutorial sessions that best suit your day and time preferences. In some courses, lectures are also held in the afternoon and evening. On Fridays, there are usually no classes, but exams are sometimes held.
The criteria are Technion-wide. The Dean of Undergraduate Studies will determine and publish numerical thresholds for the President’s Honor and Dean’s Honor, for each study track, prior to the President’s Honor ceremony held each semester. These thresholds will be determined based on achievements from the preceding semester. They will be set so that in each study track, up to about 3% of students are awarded the President’s Honor and up to about 15% are awarded the Dean’s Honor (including the President’s Honor), provided that the numerical thresholds are not lower than 91 (for President’s Honor) and 84 (for Dean’s Honor).
The criterion for the President’s Honor is the completion of at least 18 credits in the semester’s study program with a grade average of 91 or above, on the condition that this average is not below the threshold set in Section B above.
The criterion for the Dean’s Honor is the completion of at least 18 credits in the semester’s study program with a grade average of 84 or above, provided that this average is not below the threshold set in Section B above.
