Hila Glanz won the IPS Prize for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis
The Technion Physics Department is proud to congratulate Dr. Hila Glanz, who recently completed her PhD at the department, on being awarded the prestigious De-Shalit Prize for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis by the Israel Physical Society (IPS). This prize is awarded annually to only one recipient across all fields of physics.
Hila received the award for her doctoral research, supervised by Prof. Hagai Perets, titled "Stellar Interactions: Accretion, Migration, and Explosions“.
Hila is continuing her academic journey with a postdoctoral fellowship at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), supported by the following competitive fellowships:
The Burke (Sherman Fairchild) Prize Fellowship from the Institute for Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics at Caltech, awarded to only one recipient worldwide each year for a three-year term.
The Rothschild Fellowship (Yad Hanadiv), awarded to promising Israeli researchers pursuing postdoctoral studies abroad.
The Zuckerman STEM Leadership Fellowship, awarded this year to only five outstanding Israeli scholars across all STEM fields for postdoctoral research in the United States.
