In memory of Joshua Felsteiner
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed colleague Professor Emeritus Joshua Felsteiner.
Prof. Joshua Felsteiner received a B.Sc. in Physics & Mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1962, an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1963 and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1967. Joshua joined the Technion Physics Department as a lecturer in 1967 and in 1992 he became Full Professor in our department. Joshua made significant contributions in different fields of physics: namely in nuclear, solid state, and plasma physics and different applications, including medical. He served as a visiting professor in different universities around the world: USA, Germany, UK, France, Netherlands and Sweden. Joshua published over 200 publications in refereed scientific journals, and he was an excellent lecturer and mentor who supervised 29 MSc and PhD students.
Joushua will be greatly missed; may he rest in peace.
