We would like to congratulate our Ph.D. student Shurik Yatom who was awarded by Israel Physics Society Student Prize award for his research of nano-second timescale electrical
discharge in pressurized gases including such intriguing phenomenon as generation of run-away electrons.
Using x-ray, optical, spectroscopic and Coherent Anti-Stock Raman Scattering diagnostics, Shurik obtained for the first time, time- and space-resolved evolution of plasma density and electric fields during this type of the discharge.
