Congratulations to Orr Sela, Ph.D. student of Shlomo Razamat, for winning the Clore Israel Foundation Scholarship.
Orr’s research focuses on Quantum Field Theory (or QFT), a general theoretical framework used to describe a variety of phenomena in different fields of physics. In particular, he investigates how symmetry can emerge in strongly-interacting QFTs and how the same QFT can describe two or more seemingly-different physical systems. Moreover, he uses it to microscopically calculate the entropy of black holes in several quantum-gravity models!
