Probing new axial vectors at the intensity frontier

Bounds set on the dark photon can be used to restrict the parameter space of models with a massive axial vector boson. We develop a framework for recasting these dark photon bounds to general models with an axial vector boson, as well as chiral models. This includes a data-driven method to obtain the hadronic decay rates by looking at hadronic tau decay and using SU(3) flavor symmetry between the three lightest quark flavors. We then provide several examples of recasting.
