Abstract: | A new vector boson, Z', could constitute a mediator between Standard Model quarks and Dark Matter. Although LHC experiments have experienced relatively poor sensitivity to low-mass hadronically decaying particles due to the ubiquitous multijet background, novel techniques have been suggested to improve the sensitivity to such particles. In a often used benchmark model, a leptophobic particle with axial-vector couplings to quarks, g_{q}, and a mass in the 50 GeV -- 300 GeV range is considered. This analysis examines the sensitivity of the ATLAS experiment to a Z' boson in a channel where it is produced in recoil against an intial state radiation photon with high-pT and decays to a pair of quarks. The photon is used as a trigger object whilst the large-radius jet is employed to reconstruct the decaying resonance.
