Abstract: | The standard model assumes that long-range interaction occurs only through gravity. However, there are compelling theoretical motivations for another type of long-range force acting on the dark matter but not on the baryonic one. In this study, we will focus on the effects of one of the models of this force and try to characterize its observational signatures in relation to the Fornax dwarf spheroidal satellite galaxy of the Milky Way (a particularly valuable source of information due to its relatively close proximity to us). Fornax is the best-studied satellite of the Milky Way, but we will also explore the model in relation to other dark matter-dominated satellites. |
